Solar Decathlon

The Solar Decathlon is a biennial competition in which 20 college and university student teams compete to design, build and operate the most attractive, effective, energy-efficient solar-powered house. This event is regarded as one of the most important and prestigious renewable energy related competitions in the world. In 2009, the Solar Decathlon took place on Washington DC's National Mall and Meteor Lighting was the only lighting company invited to be a sponsor of this event. In line with the patriotic theme, over 100 red white blue Meteor lights were installed throughout the thoroughfare and solar houses on the National Mall.

You can rest assured that our products meet the highest standards and are the best on the market. Before being accepted for installation at the National Mall, Meteor Lighting paver/ground lights had to go through a series of stringent tests conducted by the engineers of NREL (National Renewable Energy Laboratory). Our products were approved by the United States’s primary laboratory for renewable energy, energy efficiency research and development as meeting the standards for high-quality, innovative and durable solar lighting products.
